SCT project 2014 part #6 (Cancelled)

I will not continue HyperStar route any more. SCT project is now discontinued. Edge HD 800 will be used as is or with 0.7x reducer. I am searching for suitable astrograph at the moment. With additional automatic (maybe with temperature compensation) focuser imaging heavens should be fun and easy.

Some accessories for my tube:

Taking flats

These are for 8" SCT (Geoptik) and 4" refractor (Gerd Neumann).

Geoptik takes 12V (I use it at 9V):

Gerd Neumann needs inverter for 12V (not shown here). This runs at 9V too:

E-books

Summer and holidays are coming. I already bought something to read during light nights:

  • Choosing and Using a New CAT
  • Scientific Astrophotography
  • Making Beautiful Deep-Sky Images
  • CCD Astrophotography: High-Quality Imaging from the Suburbs
  • Make Time for the Stars
  • One-Shot Color Astronomical Imaging
  • Human Vision and The Night Sky

E-books are handy. One can read them on PC, mobile phone or tablet. Practically anywhere anytime.

First Light

I managed to take two shots with my new EdgeHD 800 when skies finally opened after several weeks of cloudy weather.

Waiting for first light

I already made a couple of focusing exercises using summer cottage far away then the Moon and now Pollux (yes you can see the brightest stars with telescopes despite the Sun).
